RCS enclosure ensures safer and faster construction progress
The industrial and university town of Jekaterinburg now features the highest Russian building outside of Moscow, the 188 m high office tower Antey III. 50 multi-functional floors offer an outstanding infrastructure along with a wonderful panorama. The large height in connection with the inner-city location were two decisive factors which led planners to favour a complete enclosure of those floors under construction.
Through the RCS climbing protection panel, not only were construction site personnel secured against falling, the enclosed working areas were also protected against extreme weather conditions. This, together with the increased feeling of safety, meant that work could be efficiently carried out at all heights in 10-day cycles. The altogether 44 RCS protection panel units were hydraulically rail-climbed and - with the help of mobile RCS self-climbing devices - without a crane to the next floor. The rounded floors with 42.30 m external dimensions, were arranged around the central square-shaped reinforced concrete core. For forming the walls, the TRIO 330 panel formwork was used which could be extended for the larger intermediate storey heights without any problems. Panel connections took place - vertically and horizontal - with only one connecting part: the BFD alignment coupler. The comprehensive PERI formwork concept was supplemented by MULTIFLEX girder slab formwork.
