For about 1 km, the motorway D1 runs on pillars on a dam structure in the flood plain. Following the river, the superstructures led in parallel have been designed S-shaped. A total of eight VARIOKIT formwork carriages ensured fast shuttering and moving periods during the production of the steel composite bridge with the pilgrim step procedure. The field cycles with a regular length of 28 m per cycle were concreted in advance, the 12 m-long prop cycles were subsequently concreted in four sections. Due to the rentability of the VARIOKIT modular system, the larger amount of material amortised itself – because this helped to reduce the construction time and minimised the costs for the construction site support.
