SKYDECK Platform – Dispenses with additional Safety Platforms
This new multilevel bank building is characterized by open spaces extending three stories. The upper floors‘ structure consists of circular columns and flat slabs open to the outside.
The contractor had previous experience with SKYDECK, but was using the system''s folding platforms for the first time. These lock into position on the cantilevered main beams to provide safe work and protected access at the edge of the slab.
Since the SKYDECK platforms are part of the slab formwork, subsequent work, such as the forming of edge columns or parapets, can be started imme-diately after pouring the slabs. This has the special advantage of avoiding the need for the additional work and protective access platforms (eg folding types) that used to be needed. These could only be erected after the slab had been stripped.
