Saatchi & Saatchi Administration Building, Frankfurt/Main, Germany
Savings on Time and Materials with PERI FTF
Cost-Effective Facade Erection using Combi-Construction Method
This 6,000 m² high class office building was constructed in the centre of Frankfurt and is situated close to the banks of the River Main, with a direct view of the city’s skyline. The so-called “Tor zum Osten” project (Gateway to the East) has made the Sonnemannstrasse one of the most attractive locations in this city.
The contractor was able to achieve economical construction costs through the intelligent choice of efficient formwork systems: SKYDECK aluminium panel formwork for the slabs with optimised cycle planning and supply of materials, TRIO for the walls, and ASG 160 platforms, which were used on the cross walls as safe working and protection scaffolding.
The façade of the building was erected using a combi-construction method. Prefabricated parapets and beams had to be connected to the in-situ concrete columns. For this, the contractor, Leonhard Weiss, used FTF facade formwork for the first time. The result: apart from considerable savings in time, it was not necessary to scaffold all the facade – carried out with the approval of the health and safety authority!
