Lederhof Cinema Complex, Ulm, Germany
PERI TRIO: Economical Solution for 10.50 m High Walls Poured in one Operation
The construction of this imposing cinema complex has created an impressive entrance to the city centre from the west. The sixstorey structure has eight cinemas, which provide seating for an audience of 1,800 visitors and is located directly on a main road junction between the access roads to the main railway station and the city centre. Situated in close proximity to the Ulm Münster cathedral, the contractors were faced with an extremely confined jobsite and a very tight construction schedule.
Thick walls and wide-spanned slabs form the basic structure of the so-called Xinedome. Flexible formwork and scaffolding systems were needed, which could fulfil the different construction requirements. Apart from support scaffolding such as the ST 100 stacking towers for the pre-cast beams or the MULTIPROP system, the contractors also decided on TRIO panelized wall formwork for the walls. This was used extremely efficiently in various areas: single-sided on SB brace frames in the basement, on folding platforms and KG climbing brackets in the larger auditoriums and entrance hall as well as with up to four panels stocked for 10.50 m wall heights.
With a 120-man construction team, the right choice of formwork system combined with the know-how of a very experienced site team, the building''s shell was constructed in a record time of less than seven months.

“Using the over 10 m high TRIO formwork in one cycle allowed us to work extremely quickly. We''ve worked with PERI materials for many years and once again we''ve achieved first-class results!”
