PERI have supplied 82 No. lightweight aluminium DOMINO wall panels for a CALA Homes (east) Ltd housing development in Edinburgh.
The 2.5m x 1.0m panels are being used to form 190m of concrete retaining wall at South Oswald Road, Edinburgh for a development of 15 luxury flats.
DOMINO was chosen by subcontractor, Dunne Building & Civil Engineering, as crane access was impossible due to the sloping and very restricted site and the need to meet a tight programme.
The system is ideal where access is difficult as the 2.5m x 1.0m panels each weigh only 57kg and can be manhandled easily by two persons.
The retaining wall comprises 120m of straight and 70m of curved wall with the later at 28m radius and incorporating shaped timbers between each panel to provide a faceted curve.
The ease of handling and not having to rely on a crane for lifting has helped to keep this project on target to what was a very tight programme.
