Railway tunnel with subterranean stations, station expansion and entrance area
Design: the tunnel section is being built using the cut-and-cover method; the semi-monolithic method in the trough construction procedure
Internal width: up to 21.00 m
Internal height: 7.20 m to 9.85 m

The Project
Impressions from the project process
The southern entrance area was constructed using the cut-and-cover method for a length of around 1.5 km. With the two PERI formwork carriages, the walls and slabs of the two separate tunnels could be cost-effectively concreted in one pour.
The variable PERI VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork could be positioned exactly by means of the formwork carriage. The procedure is carried out by using heavy-duty rollers on rails, on the concrete sub-base at the front and on the finished bottom plate at the rear.
The PERI tunnel formwork solution allowed construction of the Malmö City Tunnel in 10-day cycles. Bottom plate and external walls were completed in one operational sequence – the tunnel slab was subsequently constructed using two PERI slab formwork carriages.
With the two formwork carriages, the 15 m long casting segments were constructed very efficiently. Hydraulically-operated raise and lowering equipment ensured time and cost-saving moving procedures. The construction could be continuously adapted to suit the varying cross-sectional dimensions.
For the beams, ST 100 stacking towers and MULTIPROP slab props formed a rapidly assembled and load-bearing sub-structure between the middle row of columns.
